As one more step towards advancing our compliance standards even more, ConnectPay has joined the European Compliance Professionals Association (ECPA).

Head of the Board and Co-Founder of ECPA, Jekaterina Govina, states that the association will respond to the growing need for a dedicated compliance body in Lithuania, where businesses face various regulatory complexities. Govina explains, “Compliance professionals play a key role in creating a sustainable, safe, and responsible business community. However, there has always been a lack of an association representing this large professional community.” ECPA is uniquely positioned to bridge this gap, uniting experts from diverse fields—anti-money laundering, data protection, information security, and more—to establish clear standards and provide professional development opportunities.

According to ECPA President Liudas Basiulis, the organization aims to address a crucial gap in Lithuania’s compliance landscape. “Currently, thousands of compliance professionals are working across Lithuania in AML, data protection, consumer protection, and other fields,” he notes. “Despite this, there has been no standardized framework for the profession or accessible, localized training.”

Supporting compliance as a core business asset

For ConnectPay, joining ECPA aligns with a deep commitment to ethical business practices and industry leadership. The Chief Compliance Officer at ConnectPay, Thibaud Catry, emphasizes that, “Compliance isn’t just about ticking boxes for Anti-Money Laundering. It encompasses everything from data protection to ethical business practices.” Through this membership, ConnectPay looks forward to participating in initiatives that shape future standards in the compliance industry and provide valuable insights for companies navigating complex regulatory landscapes.

The ECPA also offers unique resources, such as networking events, training sessions, and mentorship programs, which are already strengthening compliance practices across sectors. By working closely with public and private sectors, the association will build a bridge between compliance professionals and institutions, enhancing resilience within both.

We thank the ECPA for welcoming us on board and look forward to contributing to the association’s ongoing mission. This partnership is an important step forward in our commitment to advancing compliance as a strategic asset even more.
